Full Tilt Poker recently unveiled their latest software update and the new features that came with it. Among the new features to launch are deal-making, new lobby views, and a bonus for loyal customers.

Last Thursday, site users were allowed to update their software before logging in and discovered an option to upgrade to their choice of two different lobby views. The classic view is still available, but the new and improved lobby allows players to customize their menu options with filters and favorites tabs, which make finding the perfect game faster than ever.

Perhaps the biggest improvement to the site concerned deal-making in tournaments. Previously, Full Tilt did not allow players to make deals, forcing players at the final tables to gamble for large sums of money as the tournament neared its conclusion. With PokerStars and the Cereus network already offering this capability, Full Tilt upped the ante with features rarely seen on poker sites.

The new feature has no need for support to come in and pause the tournament. Instead, an option appears on the screen to “make a deal” once the tournament reaches the final table. Players can click on this option at any time, and once everyone has agreed to chop, the discussion can begin.

The chip leader has the initial control of the deal and can manage the numbers with input from the remaining players. If the chip leader wishes to, he or she can pass control of the deal to another player to expedite the process. Full Tilt allows the player to chop up the prize money in three different ways. Players can choose to divide the remaining money by using the chip count method, the independent chip model, or create one of their own with a custom deal.

All players must agree to the deal and can cancel at any time and resume play. Additionally, the players may decide to divide any portion of the prize pool they wish and can leave additional cash on the side for the eventual winner. Players are given 20 minutes to come to an agreement before the tournament resumes.

Initial reactions from the new features have been overwhelmingly positive, though some knowledgeable players have expressed concerns, saying that the new system will educate bad players about ICM and hurt their potential profits down the road.
